Okay, so for the second time I’ve changed the name of this series – sorry about that! I didn’t think the name quite matched the content so I’ve gone for something a bit more neutral. We’ll see if it sticks!
This week I’ve come across some interesting, bizarre and hilarious stuff online.
We’ve all seen the famous Lunch Atop a Skyscraper photograph (above), it’s been a part of popular culture for years, adapted to promote everything from Friends to Geordie Shore and Foxy Bingo. But have you ever wondered what the story behind the iconic image is and who the men pictured eating lunch casually above New York City might be? Well, thanks to new research published online at the Smithsonian, some of those questions might just have been answered.
I’ve always found random news articles to be an interesting source of material for a story. This week America’s Daily News featured some bizarre and, frankly, disturbing pieces. It’s the stuff horror films are made of, but a South Carolina woman really did discover a former boyfriend had been secretly living in her attic.
I do enjoy a bit of reality TV – or car crash TV as my hubby likes to call it, while pretending not to watch! Don’t Tell the Bride is one of my addictions, and I’ve just discovered a fantastic wedding blog that reviews each episode in brilliant, scathing, sarcastic detail. So much better than watching the show itself!
