We’ve all experienced it at some point; you’ve had a fabulous couple of weeks over Christmas and the New Year but as soon as January arrives the post-holiday slump hits.
Straight after the New Year, people tend to be full of excitement for the months ahead; making plans and setting goals that will improve their lives and make this year the best yet!
But once the Christmas decorations come down and it’s time to go back to work, reality sets in and it can look pretty bloody miserable.
We’re stuck with rubbish weather and dark, gloomy winter days, but without Christmas to look forward to. The summer and your next holiday feel an eternity away and you’re still skint from all the present buying madness and sales shopping. Plus everyone is banging on about how much they ate and drank over the last month, whilst trying to stick to diets, detox plans and exercise regimes.
Sigh.
What January needs is something exciting to perk everyone up. This year, I’ve got the Blogcademy to look forward to – it’s next week, in fact! Eek!
But how can you lift your spirits when your bank balance is critical and booze and chocolate are off the menu?
• Curl up on the sofa and watch a box set of your favourite show • Browse holiday brochures • Scoff the last of the Christmas treats • Save your favourite Christmas cards and re-read the lovely messages • Dance • Wear a onesie • Have a good moan • Listen to your favourite songs full blast on the way to work • Wish for a snow day • Wrap up and go for a walk • Wear a sparkly party dress • Clear out some clutter • Make money on eBay • Buy winter hats with bobbles and animal faces • Sleep in • Print your December party photos • Light candles • Dance •
If you’ve tried your hardest and January is still getting you down, chat to someone else about it – I bet they probably feel the same way!
And if all else fails, don’t worry, it’ll soon be February!

Oh my goodness this is where I am at the moment! Was on such a high and then the last few days have totally crashed.

Hey Veronica, it’s rubbish isn’t it?! At least we have Blogcademy to look forward to – yay!
