I’ve made a promise to myself that I’m going to continue with my So I’m a Smoggie series on a regular basis. Each month I’m going to write something about my hometown and try to shine a light on a few of the positives of life on Teesside.
This month I’m working on a project. Every day for the next four weeks I’m going to post at least one photograph, taken somewhere in Middlesbrough, to my Instagram feed.
Usually the only pictures the outside world sees of our town feature cooling towers and rows of run down houses. So for the next month, I’m going to focus on the parks and the history and the detail that can be found in Middlesbrough.
Perhaps a couple of industrial shots will find their way into the collection – after all, I believe it’s possible to find beauty in the most bleak of locations if you look for it.
In 28 days, I’ll be posting another article here to collate the best photographs.
If you’d like to follow my progress on Instagram, you can find me @tenpennydreams. I’ll be tagging all my relevant photographs #middlesbrough and #smoggie.
