Last Saturday, I headed down to London for the day to meet up with some of the bloggers I was introduced to last year through The Blogcademy.
The lovely Lucy had organised a day of activities for us, and even put together an Instagram worthy goodie bag full of treats.
As I arrived a bit early, I decided to head over to the British Library for a look around. Although the building itself doesn’t look like much from the outside, inside it’s beautiful and full of things for any book lover to swoon over.
The library also hosts regular exhibitions, so I visited their current offering, Comics Unmasked: Art and Anarchy in the UK, which runs until 19th August.
I’ve never been a comic book reader, but I was intrigued by the number of unusual and downright bizarre comics that have published over the years.
The British Library has a lovely courtyard area outside, which is surprisingly peaceful despite being just off the main road. As the sun was shining, I decided to spend a few minutes taking in the scenery, which unfortunately included the man opposite me, fast asleep on the stone bench, snoring into an H&M carrier bag that he was using as a pillow!
Afterwards I met up with Lucy and Caroline at King’s Cross, before heading over to Shoreditch for lunch with Steph, Kat and Nicole at Pizza East, who – by the way – have the most gorgeous salted chocolate caramel tart on the menu. Thanks to Caroline and Lucy for letting me sneak a bite!
The rest of the afternoon included a style challenge at vintage fashion store Beyond Retro, then cocktails and accessories with the PR ladies from Cred Jewellery.
Not being the most fashion conscious person, I was dazzled by the sheer array of crazy and colourful clothing at Beyond Retro and pretty much forgot I was supposed to be putting together a festival worthy outfit. We’ve clearly established that I’m rubbish at blogger challenges!
Unfortunately I missed out on drinks and some gorgeous jewellery as I had to dash back to the station for my train home, but I had a really great day catching up with the other girls and chatting about our blogs.
Can’t wait to do it again!

I still can’t forgive myself for never having visited the British Library, especially now considering the current exhibition!
Glad you ladies had a fun catch up : )
