Autumn was made for reading, curled up on the sofa under a blanket while it pours with rain outside.
Autumn was made for dog walks in the chill evening air, as the sky grows slowly darker and the bite of winter begins to arrive.
Autumn was made for forgetting about diets. It’s the season of hearty stews, homemade lasagne and casserole, for craving carbs and stodge in preparation for the months of hibernation.
Autumn was made for nights in with loved ones, watching films with the lights off and the fire on.
Autumn was made for thick black tights and boots, chunky scarves and bobble hats. It was made for layers and throwing away the fake tan, for pulling your favourite jumpers from the back of the wardrobe.
Autumn was made for anticipation: for the holidays, for Halloween and Bonfire Night, for Christmas and birthdays and time away from work.
Autumn was made for fresh starts, with that back to school feeling that still lingers no matter how old you are.
Autumn was made for peace and quiet and contentment, for family and new goals and buying gifts for others.
Autumn was made to be the best season of the year.

I am absolutely in love with this post – these are all the reasons that I love Autumn that I’ve been trying to express, but just haven’t found the words for. I’ve got my blanket scarfs and bobble hats ready for my walk to walk, and I’ve been loving being able to see my breath as I go out to feed my bunny in the mornings and give him a cuddle!

Thanks Steph, I love those crisp mornings too and the way breath clouds up the cold air!
