Review:
Epson Expression Photo XP-960 A3 All-in-One Printer
One of the best things to have come out of blogging has been developing an interest in photography.
I don’t claim to be especially good at it, but I do love wandering around a new place with my camera, capturing the details for posterity. And having this blog gives me an incentive as I have somewhere to share my best pictures.
But beyond that, I don’t usually do anything with them.
It’s been years since I printed out any photos, created an album or made a photo book.
So when I was given the opportunity to review the new Epson Expression Photo printer, I was really excited to have some real hard copies of my pictures again.
When it arrived, my first impression of the printer was how large it was. Years ago I had a photo printer for my old point and shoot camera, which I loved. It was a little boxy thing that would spit out a couple of dozen regular sized photos before the ink ran out, whereas the Epson will print a range of sizes up to A3 and with this in mind, it’s actually quite compact.
There’s a bit of setup involved, but thankfully husband is an IT techie by day so he did most of the work for me. I hate getting to grips with a new gadget and have been known to let things fester in the box for months before getting them out. But he proclaimed the setup to be really easy, so if you’re vaguely confident with technology you won’t have any problems.
The printer works wirelessly too so you can send photos to print really easily from another device and even from Facebook.
But the best thing for me was the print quality. I printed out a couple of photos in A3 and the colour was beautiful, the image crisp.
The device also has a built-in scanning function, so you can transfer your old photos onto the computer and print them off in different sizes.
There are also lots of extra features that I haven’t chance to explore yet, but I’m looking forward to playing around printing off some more photos and doing a few DIYs with the A3 photo prints so I have some fantastic memories to display around the house.
