When you’re down or having a bad day, remind yourself.
Remind yourself of the good things.
Think about your achievements, however small. Don’t just look at them in isolation; think about how far you’ve come, how much you’ve grown.
Be thankful for the people in your life, for the love they show and the support they give. Take a moment to remember the ones you haven’t seen for a while, but who mean a lot to you. Send them a message to say hey. You could make their day better too.
Remind yourself how it feels to stand on a beach in the sunshine, the wind lifting your hair away from your bare shoulders, your toes curling in the sand waiting for that splash of cold water.
Think about walking through the woods and watching the way the light shimmers through the trees, the sound of birds and the feeling of stillness all around you.
Be thankful for the times you explored a new city, never knowing what was waiting round the next corner.
Look back at old photographs and remember those happy days that have faded from your memory.
Close your eyes and listen to music, let it lift you up or calm you down.
Smile at someone, say thank you.
Even on a bad day there are moments to enjoy. Push away the everyday and allow yourself to be content, to feel all the good things you have in life.
